Susan Tanaka, RN
After 22 years of oncology nursing, with specialties in breast cancer and nursing
management, Susan took a 6-month break. During this time, she began to explore
aesthetic nursing. This was a growing new field for nurses. This was a wonderful
chance for a career change, and still be able to use her nursing skills.
Susan is an instructor for MATC, and continues in her medical/cosmetic practice.
She has expertise in IPL, AFT, Lyra, Aura, Nd:Yag, Q-switch Nd:Yag for tattoo
removal, 810 Diode, and Erbium, for ablative re-surfacing. Using a variety of these
lasers and lights, she treats hypo-pigmentation, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, birth
marks, port wine stains, tattoo removals of all colors, hair removal, advanced skin
rejuvenation, and vein treatments. Susan points out, "this is not all about
cosmetic procedures. It is also about treating medical conditions, and often,
correcting long term medical problems." She also concludes that "using lasers,
lights, and adding dermal fillers and Botox® can dramatically improve skin from
the effects of aging and sun damage." She brings to the classes the most
advanced techniques in Botox® and dermal filler injection techniques.
Susan is committed to excellence in nursing, and to passing on the techniques
needed to provide the best possible results for patients.
