Botox® Cosmetic has been used to treat a variety of medical conditions for nearly 15 years. It was approved in 2002 as Botox Cosmetic.
Botox Cosmetic is a purified protein, extensively tested for safety and administered in miniscule quantities into very specific muscles to weaken them and relax wrinkles. A simple non-surgical procedure that, within days, smoothes moderate to severe lines relaxing the muscles of the forehead, brows and crows feet.
Objectives:
- Understanding different types of Botulinum Toxin
- Describe mechanism of action
- Knowledge of the facial anatomy, physiology of pertinent muscles
- FDA approved uses and determine off label uses
- Safety issues and contraindications
- Storage, preparation and dilution
Attendee will acquire Botox cosmetic training manual, patient consultation pre-post treatments, legal forms (California) and standardized procedures and protocols. Preceptor programs are available for physicians meeting insurance requirements. Please contact MATC for details. 800-972-6422
